Talented According to one of the many glowing articles about him, young winemaker Pierre Weber had not planned to end his international wanderings at home in Alsace, let alone cultivate the 3 hectares of vines left behind by his grandfather. But what do we really plan for the craziest, most beautiful things that happen to us in life?
Son of an oenologist, grandson of a winemaker, we thought he'd fallen into the vat as a child. But no, perhaps for the simple reason that he wasn't really brought to its edge until he decided, in 2018, to take part in the grape harvest and then settle in Husseren-les-Châteaux to breathe new life into the riches of this piece of Alsatian land. Le Naturiste has selected four bottles for you, for an electric and composite tour d'horizon.
The Orange : After macerating for two weeks to be pressed and sleeping for nine months, Le Orange (a 'gewürzt') inhabits a simple, elegant bottle, from which it emerges full of the freshness in which the grapes have grown, and marked by reliefs ranging from sherry to spice.
Le Rouge: A tender pinot noir that envelops the tongue and gullet. As delicious as it is delicate.
Pet Nat: A must at the table or as an aperitif. A bevy of sparkling, invigorating bubbles lift the golden color of the chardonnay, pinot blanc and sylvaner grapes grown at an altitude of 400m, the highest in Alsace for vine-growing.
Les Lies Là: The magnificent alchemy of flavors rubs off on this wine's color. Orange-red, neither transparent nor fathomless, the balance is based on individual maceration of pinot gris and sylvaner, brought together during ageing. The bottle is corked like a fart nat. Drink it happily before or after a meal.
