Les Maoù

"Installed in 2014, we started with 3.5ha of leased vines in Gordes. These are old carignans, cinsauts and aubuns. Then cabernet sauvignons (destined for grafting) were gradually added, followed by white and black grenaches, alicante and pink and white clairettes. We now have 10ha of vines.

Our work in the vineyard is organic (certified). We cultivate rather old vines, all of which have undergone a more or less long and deleterious period of conventional farming. Our aim is to revive soil life and restore the balance between soil and plant. This involves composting, careful work with the vines (pruning, disbudding) and with the soil (intercep under the row, 1 row out of 2 worked). We plant plant cover for the winter and plan to plant trees in and around the vineyard plots.
