Born of a gentle encounter between the assurance of long experience - ten years of production and various collaborations with other winemakers - and the freshness of a young blossoming - that is to say, that of an official winery opened barely two years ago - the bottles of theAlchimia Cantina Urbana promise to broaden the horizons of even the most seasoned among you.
Matteo Cacciagrano took his time, it's true. A decade of partnerships and various explorations before deciding to transform his stock-filled cellar into a wine cellar. The vineyards are located in the Peligna valleys - the birthplace of molto famoso Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, no less - and Pescara.
We're right in the middle of the east coast of the little boot. The vineyards are bathed in a Mediterranean climate and are rooted in mountainous terrain, where rainfall is higher than elsewhere in Italy, and temperatures a little lower. Malvasia, Moscato, Pecorino, Chardonnay and Passerina are the main white-berry grape varieties grown here.
And by the way, how do these bottles look?
