The Bourgoin family estate has flourished in this part of western France, close to the Atlantic Gulf, since 1933. Frédéric Bourgoin - "an alchemist terroirist", as he puts it - cultivates the grapes here and, in 2015, turned the obvious on its head: for him, the French have lost sight of cognac, and he intends to put this forgotten product back at the center of the wine world. So he came up with the idea of reinvesting palates with flavors themselves revisited by the estate's own spells.
